The Loire Valley has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000. It is renowned for its many castles, exceptional sites, vineyards and wines (Bourgueil, Champigny, Côteaux du layon), mushroom industry and its numerous hiking and horse back riding trails and bike rides. The city of Saumur, French capital of horse riding, is the headquarter of l'Institut Français du Cheval et de l'Équitation, de l'École Nationale d'Équitation et du Cadre Noir.
